TB-4 Fragment

Thymosin Beta-4 Anti-Fibrotic Fragment

TB-4 Fragment is a refined segment of the thymosin beta-4 molecule that targets cardiac and vascular fibrosis specifically, blocking the scar-forming process after heart injury while reducing arterial wall stiffness. It delivers the anti-fibrotic benefits of TB-500 with an attenuated angiogenic profile, making it the preferred choice in cardiovascular-focused protocols where stimulating new vessel growth is not desired.

Mechanism

How TB-4 Fragment Works

The TB-4 Fragment retains the actin-sequestering N-terminal domain of Thymosin Beta-4, inhibiting fibroblast-to-myofibroblast transdifferentiation: the cellular mechanism underlying fibrotic scar formation in cardiac tissue. It modulates TGF-β signalling (a key driver of cardiac fibrosis) and reduces collagen crosslinking enzymes that stiffen cardiac and vascular matrix. Unlike full TB-500, it has attenuated VEGF-mediated angiogenic activity, reducing the risk of stimulating unwanted neovascularisation in contexts where angiogenesis is contraindicated.
