BPC-157 accelerates tissue repair through several simultaneous mechanisms. It activates VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) signalling to promote angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels) increasing oxygen and nutrient delivery to damaged tissue. BPC-157 also modulates nitric oxide synthesis to reduce local inflammation, protects the gastrointestinal mucosa by stimulating mucosal cell proliferation, and exhibits neuroprotective effects by supporting dopaminergic and serotonergic signalling balance.

BPC-157 has demonstrated a generally favourable profile across preclinical research, with no significant toxicity reported at research-relevant exposure. The most commonly reported effects are transient injection-site reactions such as redness or minor swelling. Some users report mild gastrointestinal changes, including loose stools or nausea, when administered orally at high doses. Dizziness or lightheadedness has occasionally been reported. BPC-157 does not appear to affect blood pressure, heart rate, or hormone levels. Published preclinical studies have not identified carcinogenic, mutagenic, or teratogenic signals.
