AC-KPV-NH2

Acetylated Alpha-MSH Fragment

AC-KPV-NH2 is a stabilised alpha-MSH fragment that repairs the intestinal barrier by restoring tight junction proteins, reduces the gut immune inflammation driving IBD and leaky gut, and also lowers systemic inflammatory cytokines throughout the body. It is the most targeted gut-mucosal anti-inflammatory peptide available, working at both the structural and immune levels simultaneously.

Mechanism

How AC-KPV-NH2 Works

AC-KPV-NH2 binds melanocortin receptors (MC1R, MC3R) on intestinal epithelial cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells. This activates cAMP-mediated pathways that suppress NF-κB signalling, reduce pro-inflammatory cytokine production (IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6), and promote epithelial barrier repair. In mucosal tissue it stimulates tight junction protein expression (claudin, occludin, ZO-1), directly improving intestinal permeability. It also reduces mast cell degranulation and inhibits neutrophil infiltration, providing multi-layered anti-inflammatory protection.
