TB-500 sequesters G-actin monomers and promotes their polymerisation into F-actin filaments, directly enabling cell migration to injury sites. It upregulates the expression of cell surface receptors involved in angiogenesis, stimulates keratinocyte and endothelial cell proliferation, and reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines including TNF-alpha and IL-1. These combined actions accelerate repair of tendon, muscle, ligament, skin, and cardiac tissue, while also reducing scar tissue formation through controlled collagen deposition.

TB-500 works systemically: unlike most healing agents that require local application, a single injection delivers its regenerative effect throughout the entire body. This makes it uniquely effective for widespread musculoskeletal injuries and multi-site recovery protocols.

TB-500 has a generally favourable tolerability profile in published preclinical research. The most commonly reported effects are mild and transient: injection-site redness or swelling, occasional mild headache or lethargy in the first few days, and rare reports of nausea at very high doses. Published studies have not identified significant organ toxicity, hormonal disruption, or haematological effects at research-relevant exposure. Theoretical concerns exist around the potential for any pro-angiogenic compound to support tumour vasculature, though no evidence of tumour promotion has been found in TB-500 research. Not for use in individuals with active malignancy.
