GcMAF

Macrophage Activating Factor

GcMAF is a naturally occurring immune activating protein that converts resting immune cells into highly active macrophages, dramatically improving the body's ability to engulf pathogens, abnormal cells, and cellular debris. It is particularly relevant where chronic infections or immune suppression have blunted the innate immune response.

Mechanism

How GcMAF Works

GcMAF binds to the Gc-protein receptor on macrophage precursors (monocytes), triggering their differentiation into highly activated macrophages with enhanced phagocytic capacity and elevated superoxide production. Activated macrophages demonstrate significantly increased ability to engulf and destroy pathogens, malignant cells, and immune complexes. GcMAF also stimulates natural killer cell activity, promotes dendritic cell maturation, and indirectly enhances T and B lymphocyte function. Research has shown that GcMAF administration can overcome the immunosuppressive mechanisms deployed by chronic infections and certain tumour microenvironments.
